Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal information we collect about you, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. We’ve tried to keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, please just ask; our contact details are at the end.

Susie Galley, trading as Yoga with Susie, is the “data controller” for your information. That means we decide what information is collected and how it is used.
We are a small, one-person practice. Your information is handled by Susie personally.
We only collect what we need to run the classes and therapy sessions, and to keep in touch with you. Depending on how you use our services, this may include:
When you get in touch
When you book a class
When you book yoga therapy
When you pay
When you give a testimonial
We do not buy information about you from anyone else, and we don’t use your information for advertising.
Yoga therapy clients
Information about your physical and mental health is “special category” information under data protection law, which means it gets extra protection.
We collect it for one reason: so that Susie can design a yoga therapy practice that is safe and right for you, and adapt it as you progress.
Before your initial assessment, we will ask for your explicit consent to collect and keep this health information. You don’t have to give it — but without it we may not be able to offer yoga therapy safely. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see “Your rights”).
Yoga therapy works alongside conventional medical care, not instead of it. We are not a substitute for your GP or specialist.
The law requires us to have a valid reason (“lawful basis”) for using your information. Here are ours:
We don’t sell your information or share it for marketing. We use a few trusted services to run the practice, and they handle some of your information on our behalf:
We may also share information if the law requires it — for example, in an emergency where someone’s safety is at risk, or if we are required to by a court or regulator.
Some of the services we use (such as Zoom, PayPal and Google) may store or process information on servers outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on those providers having appropriate safeguards in place, as required by UK data protection law, so your information stays protected.
We don’t keep your information longer than we need to.
When we no longer need your information, we delete or securely destroy it.
Your information is kept securely, with access limited to Susie. Electronic information is held on password-protected devices and accounts, and any paper notes are kept in a secure place. We take care to keep health information especially private.
Under data protection law you have the right to:
To use any of these rights, just contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month. Using your rights is free, and we won’t treat you any differently for asking.
Our website is simple and doesn’t track you for advertising. However, the maps we show are provided by Google, and Google may set cookies on your device when a map loads.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first — contact Susie using the details below. You have the right to complain directly to us, and we will look into it and respond.
You also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
We’d always prefer the chance to put things right ourselves first.
