I have been attending Susie's classes for nearly four years and really enjoy my weekly sessions. She is a thoughtful and compassionate teacher, adapting postures to work for each member of the class and advising on how far to go if you have injuries. I particularly enjoy the meditation at the end and leave feeling calm, uplifted and refreshed. I'm grateful for such a warm and supportive space to practise.
I have been coming to Susie's classes for 2 years, and always look forward to the session. She is a wonderful teacher, allowing us to move at our own pace and limitation. Supportive and encouraging, she ensures you can manage the poses to your own ability, as there is no judgement. I always feel refreshed afterwards.
Susie is a fantastic teacher, and hers is different to — and better than — many other yoga classes I have been to. She explains when and how to connect your breath to each posture, which meant a beginner like me engaged and understood what I should be doing. My partner and I really enjoyed her classes and would recommend her to anyone.
Susie has a professional and expert manner. She makes you feel at home in the practice and makes everyone feel equal, even when our abilities are different. Her techniques suit any level, especially beginners. I've found her classes help me outside the practice too — I suffer with anxiety and panic attacks, and the breathing techniques have helped me overcome very daunting situations.
I've tried yoga a few times before and never felt I could do it properly. What I love about yoga with Susie is that it's adaptable — if you can't do a pose, she gives alternatives. Post-injury I had a very tight hamstring and calf, but after weekly sessions I noticed a distinct improvement in my range of movement. All my sessions have been via Zoom, but she makes sure she can fully see me to correct my form. Highly recommend.
I really like how Susie builds up classes as the terms progress, with a different focus each half term. I enjoy the breathing and stillness moments at the end, which help me integrate the session and get ready to face the outside world again. I leave feeling that my body has been gently challenged, but at the same time relaxed. Susie teaches with warmth and her instructions are clear.
I've been attending Susie's classes for nearly 6 months with my teenage daughter. We love the classes — as beginners, we appreciate how Susie explains everything, both the movements and the breathing. We both have more flexibility and stamina than before and grow more confident each session. Having an hour to keep my mind clear is amazing. Highly recommend to anyone.
I love my yoga sessions! I feel well-stretched and relaxed afterwards.
Great yoga sessions with Susie. Definitely recommend joining her on the mat!
From Susie's yoga therapy clients
Feedback from clients who work with Susie individually, often alongside recovery from injury, illness, or life changes.
I have found working with Susie very helpful indeed. I had been through some major life changes, including loss of my partner and a serious cancer diagnosis and treatment. Susie has given me simple, healing practices that have very well addressed the issues I've raised, and those she's observed. She listened really well and has been kind and supportive — I greatly value her pragmatic approach and the way she made me feel at ease from the start. Some underlying issues have definitely improved, and I would certainly recommend Susie.
I began working with Susie after struggling with osteoarthritis in my knees and persistent lower back pain. She has been an incredible guide, starting me off with gentle, tailored yoga practices to support and strengthen both my knees and back. Thanks to her guidance, I'm now moving with much more ease and comfort. She is compassionate and highly knowledgeable, creating a personalised plan that fits my needs in the moment. I've finally started seeing the results I've been working toward.
I initially contacted Susie for help with a tight neck, but along the way we have covered a number of other things. Susie always listens very carefully and clearly explains her recommendations. With full-time work and three teenagers, I appreciated being given options for practices of different lengths — even things I could do at my desk or in a quiet corner at work. She has a calm, professional and empathetic manner, and I've learned a lot, from Lion's Breath for letting it all out to gentle practices I can do anywhere.
Susie had a gentle but thorough approach to helping me with my chronic pain and stiffness. The personalised yoga routines were carefully adjusted and tailored to meet my specific physical needs and lifestyle. I was then able to gradually increase my strength and range of movement.
Susie is an attentive and generous listener and observer. She tailors therapeutic yoga practices that are easy to follow and easy to stick to at home. She is knowledgeable, sympathetic and practical. You don't need to be someone who already regularly practises yoga to benefit.
Susie has a calm, considerate and friendly presence. She quickly put away any fears I had as a novice to yoga and gently introduced me to some very useful and healing movements and techniques.
